Location

Shellharbour Airport (formerly Illawarra Regional Airport) is located adjacent to the Princes Highway at Albion Park Rail in NSW, approximately 20km south of Wollongong City Centre and 100km south of Sydney City Centre.

The airport is situated below the picturesque Illawarra escarpment which provides the ideal backdrop for the Airshows Downunder Shellharbour airshow.

Shellharbour Airport is a licensed airport that is owned and operated by Shellharbour City Council. It is the base for a growing Light Aeronautics Industry, which provides maintenance and engineering services for aircraft ranging from ultra light to medium size turbo prop and jet aircraft.

It is also home to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) museum and workshop; an internationally acclaimed tourist attraction and just one of the many tourist activities that the airport has to offer.
