General Information

Gates are open between 0900 and 1700 with flying displays starting from 1040 on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March.

(No attendees will be admitted prior to 0900.)

The car park opens at 0700 on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March.

If tickets are still available, you can buy tickets on the day online through via our official and only ticket agent, LUP.
There will be no facilities to purchase tickets at the gate.

HOT TIP: We do not recommend purchasing your tickets from any other ticketing agency as they may not be valid!

Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March will both feature the same flying and static aircraft displays as well as carnival rides, market stalls & food outlets.

The Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024 flying program has been released and can be viewed here.

Shellharbour Airport (formerly Illawarra Regional Airport) is located adjacent to the Princes Highway at Albion Park Rail in NSW, approximately 20km south of Wollongong City Centre and 100km south of Sydney City Centre.

Tickets

Unfortunately we don’t have two-day passes for the 2024 event. Tickets are day specific and not interchangeable.

No, the Orbx Wings Pavilion is a dedicated hospitality suite that provides a gourmet dining experience for ticket holders. The Orbx Wings Pavilion has ample seating both inside the dining room and outside in its exclusive courtyard with uninterrupted views of the Airshows Downunder Shellharbour flying displays!

Children aged 5-15 years will need to purchase a child’s ticket while children 4 years and under will receive FREE General Admission entry.
All children must be supervised by an adult aged 18 years and above.

Please note, children are welcome to both Gold Pass and Orbx Wings Pavilion, however they require a full price ticket.

If a person 15 years and under would like access to the Gold Pass Grandstands they will need to purchase a Gold Pass ticket which is charged at a seat rate not a child/adult rate.

Yes, Concession tickets are available for pensioners and seniors cardholders. Your relevant card will need to be presented with your ticket at the gate when entering Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024.

Yes, Concession tickets are available for Veteran card holders. Your DVA/Veteran card will need to be presented with your ticket at the gate when entering Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024.

Yes, Concession tickets are available for students with a valid student ID card. Your student ID card will need to be presented with your ticket at the gate when entering Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024.

Yes, Companion cards are accepted at the Airshows Downunder Shellharbour for General Admission or Gold Pass Grandstand tickets. Companion Card allows a cardholder’s support person free entry when the cardholder has a valid ticket* to Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024 event (*excludes Wings Pavilion).

If a carer companion is required to assist a patron with a General Admission ticket you will need to present your companion card upon entry into the airshow site.

If a carer companion is required to assist a patron with a Gold Pass Grandstand ticket you will need to present your companion card upon entry into the airshow site and at the Gold Pass Grandstand entry point.

No, there is no resale on ticketing across the event.

Once tickets are purchased, we are unable to offer refunds.

Please note that Airshows Downunder Shellharbour is an all weather event and will go ahead regardless. However, in the unlikely event that the airshow is cancelled, you will be granted a refund for your full monies paid or exchange for the next event.

Travel to Airshow

Yes, due to limited parking available and the close proximity of Albion Park train station, we encourage you to come by train.

Event Parking will be available for General Admission patrons a short distance away from the airport. A free shuttle bus service will operate to and from the main entrance gate throughout each day of the airshow. This will need to be pre purchased before the event. You can do this when purchasing your Airshow ticket/s or adding to you order at a later date.

Onsite parking is only available to buses, coaches, Gold Pass ticket holders, Wing Pavilion, VIP ticker holders and accredited disabled permit holders ONLY. There will be no General Admission parking available at the Shellharbour Airport during Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024.

You will need to pre purchase your parking pass when purchasing your Airshow ticket/s, this can also be adding to you order at a later date. If you require an accessibility parking space, after purchasing your car parking pass please contact us directly at for further information. Please note, this will only be available to those with authorised Accessibility Parking Permits which you will need to bring on the day of the event.

Yes! Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024 welcomes those wishing to fly-in to attend the airshow.

Onsite Information

You can bring almost everything onsite with you, with a few exceptions.

Food: You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages onsite – consider having a picnic under the planes!

There will  be a number of outlets throughout the airshow site to purchase food and beverages. Please remember to clean up after yourself, there will plenty of rubbish bins located around the site.

Sunscreen & protective clothing: YES & YES – we are in Mother Nature’s elements, so best not to not forget to wear protective clothing and reapply sunscreen regularly!

Umbrellas & shade tents: Hand held umbrellas are permitted onsite to cover yourself from the elements. However, large beach umbrellas, cabanas and shade tents are not allowed due to the possibility of strong winds on the airshow site. Shade tents can be easily blown onto the runway and interfere with planes – which none of us want!

Chairs: Folding chairs are permitted onsite for General Admission ticket holders.

Beach Cart: Yes, absolutely but please remember you will be going through security and cannot leave items around the site unattended.

  • The airshow is held on a temporary site and may pose some challenges for the very young, the elderly or those with mobility issues. Every effort has been made to make the site as accessible as possible however please note there are uneven surfaces in many areas.
  • Onsite facilities including accessible toilets within every toilet block, rest areas and viewing platforms.
  • If you require an accessibility parking space, after purchasing your car parking pass please contact us directly at for further information. Please note, this will only be available to those with authorised Accessibility Parking Permits which you will need to bring on the day of the event.
  • Event specific disabled car passes are not required.
  • Companion Card allows a cardholder’s support person free entry when the cardholder has a valid ticket* to Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024 event (*excludes Wings Pavilion).
  • A free shuttle bus will be available throughout the airshow days running between the offsite car park and the main entrance gate.
  • Wheelchair and motorised scooters used by persons with a disability or injury are allowed. Be sure to bring your own as there is no hire available onsite.
  • Assistance animals for specific requirements are allowed.

The flying displays will start at 1030 and conclude at 1600 on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 March.

There are no flying displays on Friday 1 March which is a dedicated student-only Careers Day session.

The flying displays can be LOUD. Protect ears young and old by bringing ear plugs or ear muffs with you or purchase onsite from the merchandise outlet (limited stock available).

Yes, pass outs will be available at the Main and Gold Pass entry gates. Persons leaving the event who do not obtain a pass out, will not be able to re-enter the event on the same ticket.

Please note pass outs are only valid for the same day.

No, lockers will not be available at the event.

ATMs will be available at the event. Locations will be marked on the site map and in the program available on the day.

Yes, there will be a dedicated smoking area which will include the use of electronic cigarettes (e-cigs or e-cigarettes), personal vaporisers, electronic nicotine delivery systems, or other battery powered vaporisers.

Bicycles, scooters, e-scooters, golf carts and items of personal conveyance are not permitted on the airshow site.

Wheelchair and motorised scooters that are used by persons with a disability or injury are allowed.

Although we would love to meet your pets, the airshow’s loud noises and large crowds can frighten animals so pets will not be admitted onsite.

Assistance animals for specific requirements are allowed.
